Become Your Dog's Best Teacher
You did not get a dog to avoid the world

But somewhere between the pulling, the lunging, the jumping, and the embarrassment, something you never expected started happening.

You started changing your life around your dog.

You take the long way to avoid other dogs.
You tense up when someone comes to the door.
You warn guests before they walk in.
You hesitate before taking your dog somewhere new.

And the hardest part?

You love your dog. Completely.

You just wish loving them didn't feel so exhausting.

Because underneath the frustration, the embarrassment, and the constant feeling that you have to be "on guard," you're not looking for a perfect dog.

You just want to enjoy your dog again.

That's exactly why School For Paws exists.

To help you understand your dog, change the behaviors that are making everyday life difficult, and finally feel like you and your dog are on the same team.

You are not alone

You have probably already tried things.

Classes that worked in the room but fell apart the moment you hit the street

YouTube videos that made sense until your dog ignored every word

Advice from people who meant well but did not understand what you are actually dealing with

Can my dog actually be fixed? Or is this just who they are?

The owners who ask that question — the ones who are exhausted, embarrassed, and wondering if they made a mistake — are almost always the ones whose dogs make the most dramatic changes. Because they have been paying close enough attention to know exactly what needs to be different.

You are not a bad owner. Your dog is not broken. The communication between you just has not been built yet. That is what we are here to do.

Life on the other side

Here's what changes.

You take your dog for a walk without bracing yourself for the next pull, lunge, or reaction. Your dog walks beside you — not because you're constantly correcting them, but because they've learned how to move through the world with you.

You open the door when someone comes over without that familiar knot in your stomach.

You take your dog to the park, sit together on a patio, or bring them to a family cookout — and instead of managing them the entire time, you actually get to be there.

You stop wondering what your dog is going to do. You stop second-guessing yourself. You become confident because you understand your dog — and, finally, your dog understands you.

That's life on the other side.

What this actually looks like.

"I tried before. Nothing stuck."

Cequinta came in exhausted. Bentley was reacting to most male dogs and men — every walk was a source of stress and embarrassment. After working together they did not just fix the reactions. They rebuilt the communication between them completely. Bentley learned to look to Cequinta for guidance instead of reacting to the world. She went from dreading walks to taking him to the dog park with confidence. The stress left her life. The connection came back.

"Bentley and I are forever grateful. I learned that a lot of the issues I was having were due to miscommunication."
— Cequinta R., Dallas TX

"I was about to give up."

Mechie was at her limit. Bella was too much to manage and she was seriously considering rehoming her. That is one of the hardest places an owner can be — loving your dog but feeling like you cannot do this anymore. Two weeks later Bella came home genuinely well-behaved and easy to live with. Mechie kept her dog. A family stayed together. That outcome is exactly what this work is for.

"I am so amazed at the level of training I received. I am so happy I decided to keep my fur baby."
— Mechie, DFW

"My dog is sweet — until the real world shows up."

What Lana perceived as aggression turned out to be something very different — her dog was overwhelmed and had no framework for processing the world. Buses. Cars. Strangers. Other dogs. Every walk was a battle. After working together the walks became something they both could enjoy. Her understanding of her dog changed completely — and that shift in understanding is what makes results last.

"Marcus changed the way I thought about my relationship with my dog. He saved us both a lot of frustration."
— Lana M., Fort Worth TX

Who's Behind School For Paws?

Me. Marcus.

I know what it's like to love your dog and still feel frustrated because you just aren't on the same page.

I know what it's like to try your best, wonder what you're missing, and wish you simply knew how to communicate with your dog. Because I've been there.

I didn't start as a dog trainer. I became one because I wanted to understand dogs better — and help other owners avoid the confusion and frustration I experienced myself.

My goal is simple: Help you understand your dog, become confident in handling real life, and make myself unnecessary.

Two ways to get to the same place.

Understanding, confidence, and a life you actually enjoy with your dog.

I don't believe in teaching dogs a list of commands just to call them trained. I help build the understanding between you and your dog so you can move through the real world with confidence without constantly wondering what they're going to do next.

No More What-Ifs™

What if you didn't have to brace yourself every time something happened?

What if you didn't have to clench the leash every time another dog came down the street?
What if you could take your dog for a walk without constantly watching what's around the corner?
What if you could have friends over without spending the entire visit managing your dog?
What if you could take your dog to grab a coffee, sit down, and actually enjoy it?
What if you could bring your dog to a family cookout and actually be part of the conversation instead of wondering what might happen next?
What if you could take your dog somewhere new without that knot in your stomach?

Because people see the pulling, the barking, the jumping, the reactions.

They don't see you.

They don't see the tight grip on the leash. The change of direction. The constant scanning. The situations you avoid. The mental exhaustion of always thinking: "What if?"

You don't need a perfect dog. You want to enjoy your dog again.

That's what NO MORE WHAT-IFS is designed to change.

A Deeper Transformation

Your dog stays with me for 4 weeks. Your dog stays with me and my family — not in a kennel, not in a facility, and not passed between rotating staff. We work every day in real-world environments, building communication, understanding, and confidence.

You'll receive regular video updates throughout the program, and private follow-up lessons in your home are included when your dog returns. Because the goal isn't to create a dog who behaves for me. The goal is for you to know what to do when life happens.

This Is For You If...

You're exhausted from trying to figure it out on your own.

You love your dog deeply, but you're tired of feeling like life with your dog requires constant management.

You're ready for a deeper, more complete change.

What You Walk Away With

Understanding

A clearer picture of your dog and what they need.

Confidence

Knowing what to do when real life doesn't go according to plan.

A Better Life Together

Your Dog Is Part Of Your Life.

They should be able to experience that life with you.

You love your dog. But sometimes it feels like the two of you just aren't on the same page.

You know they know what you want... until it really matters. Then suddenly, everything you've practiced seems to disappear.

You've put in the time. You've tried things. You've watched videos, worked on commands, bought the equipment, and done your best to figure it out. But something still feels like it's missing.

And the hardest part? You really do love your dog. You don't want someone judging you for feeling frustrated. You don't want to feel like you've failed your dog. You just want to understand each other better.

I understand that. Because that's exactly what I care about changing.

How I Got Here

I didn't plan to become a dog trainer.

During the pandemic, we took in a Boxer, and I started working with him on basic commands — mostly because I needed something productive to do. Then one afternoon, a neighbor saw me working with him and asked if I could help with her puppy. Then another neighbor. Then another. Before long, my entire street was showing up.

And I started noticing something. These owners weren't just looking for dogs who behaved. They wanted to understand their dogs. They wanted to feel capable. They wanted to know what to do when things didn't go according to plan. And they wanted to become the person their dog could trust.

That changed the way I looked at dog training.

My Approach

I'm not here to train your dog for you.

Before dog training, I spent years as a teacher and a coach. That experience taught me something important: knowing the answer isn't enough. You have to know how to teach it. And more importantly, you have to teach it in a way that makes sense to the person who will actually be living with the dog.

Because your dog doesn't live with me. Your dog lives with you. That's why my goal isn't simply to change your dog's behavior while they're with me. My goal is to help you understand your dog, communicate clearly, and feel confident handling real life together.

My Goal

My goal is to make myself unnecessary.

That's probably a strange thing for a dog trainer to say. But I mean it. I don't want you to need me every time something goes wrong. I want you to leave feeling like:

"I understand my dog."
"I know what to do."
"We can handle this together."

Because the real measure of good training isn't what your dog can do while I'm standing beside you. It's what you can do together when I'm not there.

That's what School for Paws is built around. Helping you become your dog's best teacher — so the relationship you build together lasts far beyond the time we spend working together.

Your dog isn't just a dog you train. They're part of your life. And I want to help you enjoy that life together.
