WHY I BUILT SCHOOL FOR PAWS AROUND ONE GOAL MAKING MYSELF UNNECESSARY
I did not plan to become a dog trainer.
During the pandemic we took in a boxer and I started working with him on basic commands — just to give myself something to do. One afternoon my neighbor saw me outside and asked if I could help with her puppy. Then another neighbor. Then another. Before long my entire street was showing up.
Here is what I noticed. Every one of those owners wanted the same thing. They did not just want a dog who behaved. They wanted to understand their dog. They wanted to feel capable. They wanted to be the person their dog looked to.
I spent years as a teacher and a coach before this. And what I learned in both of those roles is that real results come from one place — the relationship between the teacher and the student. You can have all the knowledge in the world. But if the trust is not there first, nothing transfers.
That is what I named Play + Precision. Play builds the relationship. Precision builds the reliability. Together they build an owner who genuinely understands their dog.
Every program I run has one goal. I want you to leave so capable, so educated, and so confident in your ability to communicate with your dog that you never need to hire a trainer again. Not ever.
Most trainers would not say that. I mean it completely.
Because the owners who become their dog's best teacher — who feel that transformation in themselves — those are the owners whose dogs thrive for a lifetime. Not just for the weeks after the program ends.
That is what School for Paws is built for. That is why I do this

Marcus is phenomenal trainer. I learned that alot of the issues I was having was due to miscommunication. My dog (Bentley) is 1 yr 10 months and he typically barks at majority male dogs and men. When he met Marcus he barked for a little bit then calmed down within minutes and trusted him. One thing I appreciated is how patient Marcus was with both Bentley and I. We were able to experience a real life situation like going to the dog park with Marcus to make sure we would be ok in real life situations. Bentley improved even after spending a couple of hours with Marcus. Bentley and I are forever grateful.. I highly recommend Marcus as a trainer if you are looking for a trainer.

Marcus is a PHENOMENAL dog trainer. I’m extremely honored that he trained my 7 month old Cockapoo. Prior to him training her, I was considering giving her away because she was “too much” for me. After having a consultation with him and witness how she was comfortable and calm with him, I decided to give it a try. Marcus trained Bella for 2 weeks, giving me daily updates and videos of her progress. I’m so AMAZED at the level of training that I received. Bella is very well behaved and it’s easy to manage her on a daily basis. I’m so happy I decided to keep my fur baby. I HIGHLY Recommend Marcus if you are looking for a honest and caring trainer. You will not be disappointed
